Before she returned to Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah, Belly used to anxiously down the days till summer. Not this year, though. Not after Conrad lost interest and Susannah became ill once more. Belly wishes summer would never come since everything that was good and right has crumbled. However, Belly is aware of what she needs to do to put things right when Jeremiah phones to report that Conrad has vanished. And it can only take place in the same way as before, with the three of them together at the beach home. If this summer is actually the last, it should end at Cousins Beach, just like it began.
