A pair of best buddies. Ten summer excursions. A final opportunity to experience love.
Alex and Poppy. Poppy and Alex. They are not alike. He’s dressed in khakis; she’s a crazy kid. He would rather remain home and read, but she has an unquenchable need to travel. And for some reason, they have been the best of friends ever since a tragic car share from college many years ago. They spend the majority of the year apart—he lives in their little village, and she lives in New York City—but for the past ten years, they have taken one wonderful week off every summer.
Until they destroyed everything two years ago. Since then, they have not spoken.
Poppy is caught in a rut despite having everything she should want. When others ask her when she was last genuinely happy, she responds that it was unquestionably during that fateful, last trip with Alex. She therefore makes the decision to persuade her best buddy to go on one more trip with her—make it all right, lay everything on the table. Amazingly, he consents.
She now has a week to make everything right. If only she could avoid the one significant reality that has silently hovered over their apparently ideal relationship. What might go wrong?
