Violet Sorrengail’s death during her first year at Basgiath War College was a given. However, the purpose of the first impossible test was to cull out the unlucky, the weak-willed, and the undeserving.

Violet is already unsure about how she will fare once the actual training starts. It’s not simply that it’s hard and cruelly cruel, or even that it’s made to push the riders’ pain threshold past their breaking point. The newly appointed vice commandant has made it his personal goal to show Violet how helpless she is.

Violet has a strong will and brains, despite the fact that her body may be weaker and more fragile than everyone else’s. Additionally, she is failing to remember the most crucial lesson that Basgiath taught her: dragon riders set their own laws.
